Teeth Whitening

Elevate your smile

Tired of yellow teeth stealing your confidence?

Elevate your smile with our professional teeth whitening services – a simple, safe, and effective solution. Choose between the convenience of take-home whitening and the immediate results of in-chair whitening.

Our take-home option involves custom whitening trays and high-quality whitening products, allowing you to whiten at your own pace. Opt for the in-chair whitening experience for a quick transformation in a single session.

During a consultation, our experienced dentists will guide you through both options, empowering you to make an informed decision tailored to your preferences and lifestyle.

Please note that not all patients are suitable for whitening and likewise, not all teeth can be bleached (eg. dental crowns and veneers). Temporary tooth sensitivity is the most common side-effect of teeth bleaching and can be well managed with sensitive toothpaste.

Our expert teeth whitening brand solutions include Opalescence™, Invisalign™ Whitening powered by Opalescence™, Pola Whitening by SDI.

Custom Take-home Whitening kit

Whiten your teeth at your own leisure. The time taken for this is typically up to 2 weeks, wearing the trays from 30mins (day bleach) to 8h (night bleach) a day.

We aim to whiten all your teeth in an hour. You will still get a custom tray to take home just in case you need to whiten them more. This is the best method if you need to whiten your teeth in a hurry.

Whitening powder is placed internally inside your tooth after root canal treatment. We use this to correct intrinsic stains (eg. a dark tooth).

Using a special whitening and etching paste with an abrasive brush, the mottled appearance of some teeth can be improved with this advanced whitening technique.

This method is typically used to ensure uniform colour across a “patchy tooth” by embedding tiny resin particles into the enamel matrix.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is It Safe to Whiten Your Teeth?

Whitening is a very popular trend. It is important to ensure that you are doing whitening safely and only as a Dental Professional has advised.

You need to first ensure you have had a recent comprehensive dental check up and cleaning done. You should not whiten teeth if there is untreated tooth decay or gum disease or other problems with your teeth.

If doing home whitening (i.e. Take home whitening), custom fit trays made by the Dental clinic and the correct Whitening material is essential for safe and effective Tooth Whitening. The in chair whitening must be done by a Trained Dental Professional. If you follow all that, Whitening is a perfectly safe procedure to do. If done by untrained people with unregulated products, it can cause damage to your gums and teeth and be ineffective.

For whitening to be effective, the whitening product needs to have contact time with your teeth and not be washed away or diluted with saliva. The very nature of how toothpaste is used means it will not be as effective as professional whitening. Whitening toothpaste may brighten your smile and because it is more abrasive than regular toothpaste, it can be effective at reducing stain buildup. It is not recommended to use it all the time because of it’s abrasive nature.

Teeth whitening results can last from six months to two years, depending on your lifestyle and oral care routine. Avoiding foods and drinks that stain, such as coffee and red wine, and maintaining good oral hygiene can help extend the results.

Teeth whitening is generally safe for most people. However, it may not be suitable for individuals with sensitive teeth, gum disease, or restorations such as crowns or veneers. A consultation at Cranbourne North Dental will determine if teeth whitening is the right option for you.

The cost of teeth whitening varies based on the type of treatment chosen. In-chair whitening typically costs more than take-home kits due to the immediate results and professional application. We’ll provide a detailed cost breakdown during your consultation.

Teeth whitening strips can lighten your teeth but often take longer to show results compared to professional treatments. They may not be as effective at removing deeper stains and can sometimes cause sensitivity. For more reliable and lasting results, professional whitening is recommended.
